BMW celebrates 40 years of making electric cars

First prototype of BMW's electric car debuted at 1972 Olympic games.

It produced 43HP through electric motor and 0-50km/h in 8 seconds.

In early 80's, BMW made 325iX Electric. It had 30HP and 0-50km/h in 9 seconds.

Now, BMW will produce the i3 in late 2013.
