Cadillac has been mum on details, but previously confirmed the ELR will have a Voltec powertrain that consists of a "T-shaped lithium-ion battery, an electric drive unit and a four-cylinder engine-generator." That's the same basic setup as the Chevrolet Volt and Opel Ampera, but the ELR is expected to have a larger battery and a more powerful electric motor.
